9-Year Single Barrel Bourbon #2134
Our final black label release of 2024 is our oldest to date and one of the last 53-gallon barrels to be aged entirely in the hothouse environment of our oldest warehouse location— the second floor of the historic Paymaster Building. Owing to both the peculiarities of that room and its nearly 10-year age statement, Single Barrel #2134 foregrounds an antique-style presentation of oak that stands out even in some of our recent 7-and 8-year-old releases. After trials of a variety of proof points, the blending team unanimously selected the final bottling proof of 110 as this cask’s ideal balance of texture and complexity.
Presented in a Brooklyn-made wooden gift box alongside a hand-numbered data card, this limited edition of 181 bottles makes a great holiday gift for new and seasoned whiskey drinkers alike and represents the very best of what craft whiskey can be. This is the culmination of nearly 15 years experience of traditional pot-still whiskey production in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and is an exceptional bottle by every definition
Tasting Notes
Pot Distilled
Traditional Techniques
Kings County embraces a variety of whiskey cultures and blends them into creative, distinctive whiskeys. We distill for quality over yield using true pot stills manufacturer in Scotland (Forsyths) and Kentucky (Vendome).
Mashbill
We source directly from farmers in NY and maltsters in the UK because we believe that good choices start from the very beginning. We source our grains locally in NY when we can because we believe distinctive ingredients make better whiskey. Here's a breakdown of what grains goes into making this product.
80% Corn
We source our corn from Lakeview Organic. The same farmer we've been using since day one. Klass and Mary-Howell Martens have cultivated a generational farm that grows 100% organic, non-GMO corn right here in the state in the Fingerlakes region.
20% Malted Barley
Our grain comes from Thomas Fawcett Maltsters in the UK. Specifically, we use Golden Promise malted pale barley. Our high-malt mashbill borrows more from Scotch whiskey than traditional bourbons who typically add a flavoring grain such as rye or wheat.
