Private Barrel Barrel Strength Bourbon
In the past couple of months, we’ve noticed an uptick in inquiries about the current availability of barrel-strength bourbon batch #18. Though a few bottles are still available at the distillery and gatehouse, it’s long since sold out online and at most retail locations. With that in mind, we’re excited to announce our latest online release: a six-year-old, 133.2-proof barrel-strength “private barrel” bourbon.
While the “private barrel” label designation is usually reserved for whiskeys selected and released by our retail partners, it’s also meant to indicate 53-gallon barrels that our blending team has augmented with carefully layered additions of older and more highly concentrated small-format whiskeys throughout our warehouse. A common practice in Cognac, this new designation within our lineup has allowed us to apply our usual small-batch blending practices to a select number of individual casks. The resulting whiskeys — around twenty of which have already made their way to retailers near and far — maintain the uniqueness of true “single barrel” offerings, while more closely reflecting our cask-strength profile.
Composed of a six-year-old base 53-gallon bourbon and featuring a high percentage of long-marrying 7-year-old 15-gallon bourbons, “private barrel” #5595T is a particularly classic representation of our barrel-strength bourbon. Only 153 bottles produced.

Pot Distilled
Traditional Techniques
Kings County embraces a variety of whiskey cultures and blends them into creative, distinctive whiskeys. We distill for quality over yield using true pot stills manufacturer in Scotland (Forsyths) and Kentucky (Vendome).
Mashbill
We source directly from farmers in NY and maltsters in the UK because we believe that good choices start from the very beginning. We source our grains locally in NY when we can because we believe distinctive ingredients make better whiskey. Here's a breakdown of what grains goes into making this product.
80% Corn
We source our corn from Lakeview Organic. The same farmer we've been using since day one. Klass and Mary-Howell Martens have cultivated a generational farm that grows 100% organic, non-GMO corn right here in the state in the Fingerlakes region.
20% Malted Barley
Our grain comes from Thomas Fawcett Maltsters in the UK. Specifically, we use Golden Promise malted pale barley. Our high-malt mashbill borrows more from Scotch whiskey than traditional bourbons who typically add a flavoring grain such as rye or wheat.
