Like bourbon itself, the julep is more a drink of process than ingredients. Its only parts are bourbon, sugar, mint, and ice. Many would say the mint syrup is crucial to a julep, but the right consistency of dry, crushed ice is actually more important.
- 2oz Straight Bourbon
- 1 oz mint simple syrup
- Build in a julep cup. Top with crushed ice in a mound and garnish with a generous mint sprig.
